Pictured with the blue aluminum parts is the table saw miter sled jig.  The box in front will be the type of box constructed in a future box making class.

Class Size is limited to 5 people.

This class is designed as a prerequisite  to a box making class. After several discussions, James simply said it would not make sense to go forward with box making without good jigs. In this case a table saw miter sled with a lot of features to ensure clean accurate and repeatable cuts.  The second jig is for cutting the slots on the corners of a mitered box to add decorative slip-feathers..

This superbly designed table saw miter sled and miter feather cutting sled jig can be in your shop. The first part of the class is the construction of the miter sled followed by construction of the slip-feather sled.  You will finalize both  sleds in your own shop on your table saw so that the runners will exactly match your machine at home. This will ensure that you have a quality jig system operational in your shop.

Jim, a long time member of SDFWA and many times ribbon winner at the Design in Wood Exhibition at the Del Mar Fair has an extensive experience in the world of box making and jigs that make that work precise. The Member Shop plans to schedule the box making class shortly after the New Year.

Cost:   $230
